PSO/MPAS Meeting SUPA Building, Rm 200 April 2, 2015

MINUTES:

1. Student Focus Group to discuss the positives and negatives of the program 4/17 (Friday) at noon – need a location

2. Advisory Board Meeting – students are invited so attend 4/24 – need a time and location

3. Jane Jacobs Walk a. We’ve been featured on Broken Sidewalks and Jacque did an interview with Insider Louisville! Great press coverage for the program and the department. b. With this momentum, let’s do this every semester in a different neighborhood!

4. Student Showcase – Wednesday, May 6 from 5:00-7:00 at UDS a. 15 people signed up so far, we need more! Talk with Jacque if you have a class project or something you want to present! b. Poster workshop on 4/10 at 11:00-1:00 in SUPA – we can print them at SUPA c. Alumni Association is marketing the Showcase to professionals, but we should talk to professionals and professors to encourage turnout d. Ken Baker – ask him to invite the professionals he invites to Professional Practice e. Food, beverages – Ramsi’s (finger food), budget is $250-300 Hummus and pita and veggies, cheese and olives and roasted garlic and goat cheese, foccacia, empanadas (half veggie half meat), samosas (meat and veggie), finger sandwiches? fried plantains or baklava for dessert. Beer and wine – we will purchase separately

5. Student Survey – student assessment of the program, helps with accreditation. a. We want to start distributing the survey next week b. Manually distribute in class – we will get more response this way but it will take more time to compile the data.

6. Elections – we will be voting for our President and Vice President at our last meeting! (see below)

7. Last Meeting – Saturday, April 25 at 4:00pm at the Granville Inn! Let's have a party!
